The Interior Design of Binibeca House: A Home Where the Mediterranean Comes Inside.

July 13, 2026

Natural materials, timeless design and a deep connection with the landscape define the interior design of Binibeca House, the new residential project by JMC Homes in Menorca.

Binibeca House embodies JMC Homes's vision of contemporary living in Menorca: architecture that harmonizes with the landscape, interior design based on natural materials, furniture and equipment from top brands, original artwork, and meticulous attention to detail in every space. More than just a beachfront home, it's a project conceived to enjoy the Mediterranean lifestyle with tranquility, authenticity, and a timeless quality.

We spoke with interior designer Susana Lozano to learn about the inspiration, the creative process and the details that make this beachfront home a unique living experience.

The landscape was the starting point for the entire project.

What was the idea behind the interior design of Binibeca House?

From the very beginning, we understood that Menorca had to be the star. The house wasn't meant to impose itself on the landscape, but rather to integrate with it and enhance it. Every space has been designed to establish a constant connection with the outdoors. The Mediterranean light, the vegetation, the sea, and the island's tranquility are all part of the daily experience, becoming integral elements of the project. Our goal was to create a house that conveys serenity from the very first moment.

The selection of materials plays a major role in the home. What was that process like?

Materiality is one of the most defining aspects of a project. At Binibeca House, we worked with natural textures, premium Porcelanosa wall and floor coverings, woods, fabrics, and finishes carefully selected to create a warm, luminous, and timeless atmosphere. Beyond aesthetics, we sought materials capable of aging gracefully, offering quality, durability, and comfort for many years. We believe that good interior design doesn't respond to fleeting trends, but rather maintains its relevance over time.

Today, true value lies in creating spaces where one can disconnect.

The house conveys a very strong sense of calm. Was that a priority?

Absolutely. We live surrounded by constant stimuli, and we believe that our home should represent the exact opposite. Proportions, natural light, the color palette, the continuity between spaces, and the selection of materials all contribute to creating balanced environments where it's easy to disconnect. This concept of well-being has guided every decision in the project.

The furnishings also seem to reflect a very specific vision.

That's right. We don't see furniture as an independent element, but rather as an extension of the architecture. That's why we've selected pieces from some of the best international brands, always seeking a balance between design, functionality, and comfort. The same applies to the decorative lighting, designed to complement the architecture and create different atmospheres throughout the day without competing with the space.

We also found original works of art in the house.

We believe that art brings an essential emotional dimension. Binibeca House incorporates carefully selected original works, including paintings by Helga Grollo and Coohuco, which introduce sensitivity, personality, and a natural dialogue with the architecture. These pieces help create a home with its own identity and make each project truly unique.

A home should be enjoyed from day one.

JMC Homes delivers its homes fully equipped. How does this influence the design?

It has an influence from the very beginning of the project. When we design a home, we think about how it will actually be lived in. That's why we take care not only of the architecture and interior design, but also of all the furnishings: kitchen, lighting, textiles, tableware, decor, and all those elements that allow you to enjoy your home from the very first moment.

JMC Homes aims to ensure that its clients arrive with their personal belongings and find a home ready to live in, without worries.
